At HMR we don’t believe in “one size fits all.” Every patient’s hair and goals are unique. That’s why your first step is a personalized medical consultation with our team of specialists. Together, we’ll evaluate your scalp health, donor area, and expectations to design a plan that feels realistic and life-changing.
Every case is different, and our job is to help you choose the right timing for the most natural, lasting results. Most patients are already in their late 20s or older, once their hair loss pattern has stabilized. Younger patients may still be losing hair rapidly, so we usually recommend waiting until the progression is clearer.
We don’t choose one over the other, we actually use both because they complement each other. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is the step where we carefully take out the grafts one by one from the donor area (usually the back of your head) and DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is the step where those grafts are implanted directly into the thinning areas, using a special tool that allows for precise placement and natural results.
In other words, FUE is how we extract the hairs and DHI is how we implant them.
That depends on the extent of your hair loss and density you’re aiming for. Some patients need 1,500 grafts, others may need 3,000 or more in the same area. In your consultation, we’ll map your hairline, donor area and future needs so you know exactly what to expect.
Yes. The hair we transplant comes from areas genetically resistant to falling out, which means it will keep growing naturally for a lifetime as long as you take good care of it. Our patients often describe it as “getting their confidence back” — and that’s exactly what we aim for at HMR.
It depends on the job you perform, however we usually suggest our patients to take from 3 to 5 days off work. Since the procedure is gentle, recovery is usually quick. You might just want a few extra days to rest and let any redness or swelling go down before going about your daily routine. We’ll give you clear and easy instructions to adapt the recovery plan to your lifestyle.
We want your experience with HMR to be effortless even before you arrive. A private driver will meet you (and anyone traveling with you) at the border, the airport, or your hotel, and bring you directly to our clinic. After your procedure, we’ll take you back safely and comfortably. It’s a door-to-door service designed to give you peace of mind and let you focus only on your transformation.
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable they feel, and some of them even fall asleep. Thanks to local anesthesia and the experience of our surgical team, discomfort is minimal. You’ll be awake, relaxed and even able to listen to music or watch a movie while your transformation happens.
On average, it takes between 6-8 hours, depending on the number of grafts. Think of it as a single day invested for a lifetime of natural results. Our team will guide you through every step, so you always feel informed and at ease.
The procedure is designed to be calm and comfortable from start to finish. We begin by applying local anesthesia so you feel completely at ease. Then, our specialists carefully extract grafts from your donor area, one by one, and refine them under a high-powered microscope to ensure only the healthiest follicles are selected. Finally, we artistically implant them into the thinning or balding areas, following your natural growth pattern to create results that look authentic and lasting. Throughout the process, you’ll be awake and relaxed. Most patients chat with the team, watch a movie, or even take a nap while their transformation takes place.
Every patient is unique, your results will depend on your donor area, hair quality, scalp conditions, and individual goals. What we can guarantee is that your plan will be personalized to you, designed to achieve the most natural and long-lasting outcome possible.
Since you’ll receive local anesthesia you may feel drowsy after surgery. We generally don’t recommend driving, it’s best to arrange transportation. That’s why we provide private transport, so you can relax and get home safely without worrying about the details.
Recovery is quick, most patients feel fine within a few days. Redness and a little bit of swelling fade in the first week, and you’ll be back to normal activities in no time. We’ll give you clear aftercare instructions so everything heals smoothly.
Most patients return to work in just a few days. Light exercise and even some low-intensity activity should wait about 2 weeks. We’ll give you a clear recovery plan tailored to your specific lifestyle, so you feel confident getting back to what you love.
The first few days are key. You’ll want to avoid touching, scratching, or exposing your scalp to sun and sweat. Sleep with your head elevated, follow your washing instructions carefully, and take the medications we provide. These small steps protect your new hair and ensure the best outcome.
After your hair transplant, the implanted hairs usually fall out within the first couple of weeks, this is called the shedding phase. The shedding phase is something every patient goes through after the surgery. Think of it like planting seeds. The old hairs fall out, but the roots stay under the skin. From those roots, new, permanent hair will start to grow in the coming months.
Patience is key, and we’ll be with you every step of the way. After your transplant, new growth begins gradually: most patients notice visible changes between months 4 and 6, with full, natural results around 12 months. We love celebrating this journey with our patients, and we’ll schedule follow-ups to ensure everything is on track.
